What our trainees say
“I like the fact that we are allowed to work independently from an early stage and that our trainers give us confidence. The team spirit is great. I really like our cool break room. As a project, we were allowed to design it ourselves with pallets so that we feel comfortable in it.”
Steven, 17 years old, 2nd year industrial mechanic apprentice
Frequently asked questions
How does my apprenticeship at WMV work?
Depending on the training programme, the apprenticeship lasts 3 or 3.5 years. The apprenticeship is dual, which means that you are employed in our company and attend vocational school in Hennef, Troisdorf and Cologne 1-2 days a week. The framework plan for your training is based on the IHK plan. As part of our inter-company training programme, you will also get to know other companies. This part of the training takes place in blocks.
How much will I earn during my apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship allowance is based on the IG-Metall training tariff.
Will I be taken on after my apprenticeship?
As an employer with heart and responsibility, we are particularly committed to training our own junior staff. If you enjoy working for us and we feel that you will fit in well with our team after your apprenticeship, you have a good chance of being offered a permanent position at WMV.
