WMV – Software Department – The specialist department for automation technology and Control Systems

We program the control systems for our individual machines and complex, fully automated systems ourselves. Remote diagnosis and remote maintenance protect against machine downtime and long maintenance times.
WMV systems, from individual machines to complete, fully automated systems, are programmed by WMV’s own software department. Thanks to many years of experience in the field of system control and programming, continuous improvements and further developments are incorporated into the process.

Control Systems through SPS Control system

Both individual machines and complete production plants with several machines or stations are equipped with a programmable logic controller (PLC). Current PLC controls from leading manufacturers in the field of automation technology are used for this purpose.

The Siemens PLC control is optimally selected for each application, whether it is a single machine or a complete plant, and programmed by the specialists in WMV’s own software department.

Future-proof Control Systems

The possibility of future expansions is always taken into account in the planning. If the customer’s requirements for the WMV plant grow in the future, for example because a higher plant throughput is required, the WMV plant can simply grow with them thanks to appropriate plant expansions. Because “today is already yesterday tomorrow,” the customer has, so to speak, already built future-proofing into their WMV plant ex works.

HMI operating units

The human-machine interface (HMI) to the PLC Control Systems is created via operating devices in addition to classic operating and display elements such as pushbuttons and indicator lights.

Today, HMIs are mainly equipped with touch screens and offer various operating and information functions.

Operation and diagnostics

These include, for example, the operation of system stations, the display of fault messages or system statuses, and even some diagnostic functions for a possibly existing bus system, such as PROFIBUS or PROFINET. Recipe management for different treatment programmes can also be realised with an operating unit. Of course, the operating units are also programmed by the WMV Control Systems specialists.

Process automation

Durch die Verbindung von SPS Steuerung und HMI Bediengerät steht der Prozessautomatisierung nichts mehr im Wege. Selbst komplexe aufeinander folgende Material-Behandlungen in verschiedenen Stationen einer Anlage erfolgen durch Behandlungsprogramme, flexibel an das Material angepasst, automatisiert in den einzelnen Stationen, Materialtransport von Station zu Station innerhalb der Anlage inklusive.

For plant operators, this means that they are generally only responsible for feeding in raw materials (loading area of the plant), selecting the appropriate treatment program (automated treatment process within the plant), and removing the finished product (unloading area of the plant). Automation, conveyor technology, and dosing technology with WMV enable productive, fast, and cost-effective production processes that would not be possible without process automation.

Can customer requests for changes to the plant control system also be carried out via remote maintenance?

Changes to the control software can also be carried out remotely. However, depending on the desired scope of the software adaptation, it may be more appropriate to carry out these changes directly on site at the customer’s premises.
