Integration of WMV systems into the customer’s existing Production Control systems

Production control of different types of systems, such as interlinked systems, production control from pre-treatment machines to post-treatment systems with a master computer.
Regardless of whether a new WMV system is to be integrated into a WMV system already in place at the customer’s premises or into systems from other manufacturers, WMV always works closely with the customer to find the best solution for the plant operator, ensuring efficient and smooth production control and planning.

The master computer for production control

Master computers also establish a human-machine interface (HMI) to PLC system controls and offer extended functionalities compared to operating devices. Depending on the configuration of the master computer, customers have a wide range of options for system and process optimisation. Protocols generated by the master computer, such as production logs or fault logs, can be particularly helpful in this regard. With appropriate configuration, treatment programmes can be managed and maintained centrally on the master computer across all systems.

Production control – everything at a glance

An overview of the entire plant or individual plant areas is often available on a master computer, providing a quick overview of a plant area or the entire plant. This can be helpful in remote plant control to support customers ‘remotely’ with plant optimisation, process optimisation or fault analysis. Control computer systems also ensure that production is documented, as this is a frequently requested requirement nowadays. Production logs can thus be stored for years and accessed by customers at any time.

Interlinked systems

WMV systems in use

Large WMV plants can also consist of several interlinked areas. Likewise, WMV systems can also be integrated into existing or new systems at the customer’s site. The integration can occur both in an existing WMV system at the customer’s site and in systems from other manufacturers.

In both cases, depending on the purpose of the WMV plant, a distinction is made between pre-treatment plants, intermediate treatment plants or post-treatment plants or a combination of these plant types.

When equipment fills entire halls…

Production control is therefore particularly important for large plants and, in particular, for interlinked plants. This is why higher-level master computer systems are almost always used in these plants.

These may consist of several computer workstations, e.g. one computer in the office and one or more computers at the plant or plant areas.
