Next level surface treatment: PULZ® Xtend

At the PULZ® of time – Top technology again for Norm Coating

Two years ago, our customer Norm Coating chose our PULZ® Xtreme system for their surface treatment of very small parts. Now they are also relying on the excellent quality of the patented PULZ® technology for larger bulk parts – with the system innovation 2024: the PULZ® Xtend.

Top quality without ifs and buts

Absolutely homogeneous surface treatments in the field of zinc flake coating: that was the goal of Norm Coating, a global manufacturer of fasteners based in Turkey. ” Especially on very small parts with recesses, the paints used in conventional coating processes do not cover equally well all areas. We can do better,” says Michael Kamp, responsible for product development and marketing at WMV.

“Our solution was a completely new technology: completely uniform coating in a planetary circulation coating centrifuge – in short, the PULZ®.” The highlight of the PULZ® technology is the combination of high centrifugal forces (32g) with simultaneous positional change of the parts and an economically high bulk weight. “The continuous circulation distributes the paint correctly – even in recesses and hidden areas.

The highlight – from 0 to 180 rpm in 5 seconds

For this purpose, the components are subjected to a centrifugal force of 32 g after being immersed in the coating liquid – including a change in material position. The result is a completely homogeneous and aesthetically pleasing surface – even on M3 bolts with recesses. Hence the name of the system, PULZ® Xtreme: a system for extremely good surface treatment of extremely small components. And an extreme paint saving of up to 30%. But that was just the beginning.

One idea further – the PULZ® Xtend

In 2022, the time had come: the first coating system for small parts based on innovative PULZ® technology was ordered by global player Norm Coating. Its specialty: the production of high-quality fasteners. Its claim: top quality at every stage of production. “When the question of whether we could also offer a solution for the surface treatment of larger components in the same quality came up during a discussion on site, we didn’t have to think twice,” says Kamp.

The idea of further developing the PULZ® technology has been in the minds of WMV engineers for a long time. What was missing was a reason to get started. Now it’s here: the PULZ® Xtend is currently under construction. Commissioning is planned for early 2025.

A PULZ® for all occasions – Always a winning combination

What motivates us most as a team is the good cooperation with our customer and their consistently positive feedback: “We were already convinced by the PULZ® Xtreme. The PULZ® Xtend now expands our product range and rounds off our coating expertise between PULZ®, TULZ® and TLZ for rack products,” says Tevfik Erpulat, Board Member from Norm Coating.

It is not only the constructive cooperation at eye level that is profitable for both sides: Our surface treatment solutions are also “always a winning combination” for Norm Coating.
